Projects at TAMUG’s SeaSpray Literary Journal in 2022-2023

By Gail Lonngi and Adam Ross

SeaSpray, TAMUG’s creative-writing student organization, is digitizing the monthly issue of The Delta, initially released as a zine in Fall 2022. The final product of the digitized Delta will be accessed via a QR code.

The Delta is a publication designed for students’ to share creative works in progress with the university community. It serves as a means for students to receive feedback on their works thus far. Both submissions and feedback concerning The Delta are completely anonymous, and feedback is monitored by Seaspray’s officers.

Students can submit feedback or share their own work via email: seaspray.tamug@gmail.com.

SeaSpray Secretary Liam Bradley said, “We want this to be a safe, anonymous place where students can share and receive feedback for their progress on their creative projects and pursuits, with the goal of encouraging students to be more open about their creativity and further advertise our creative campus community.”

SeaSpray’s mission is to foster creativity among the university community and provide a safe place for shared creative passions and expressions. This year, SeaSpray began holding monthly competitions for photography, art, poetry, and prose, the winners of which will be published in a winners’ section of the annual release of the SeaSpray Literary Journal

The goals of these competitions are to encourage students to become more involved through their creative interests, promote excitement for the publication of the journal, and provide TAMUG with a safe, enthusiastic, open-minded place to compete creatively.

Submissions for the academic year at this time are now closed, and judging and preparations for the 2022-23 SeaSpray Literary Journal are expected to take place throughout the month of March. The goal is to finish editing for an April publication date.

Submission guidelines can be found in copies of published journal issues, or in announcements sent out by the organization through AGGNEWS.
